importantInformation There is a tick notice in the Mid-Atlantic region so please take precautions such as using tick repellant. Rangers and/or maintenance personnel are available for assistance. Ranger Station hours are 8:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Trees offer shade but there are no pavilions in the picnic areas. No amplified music or DJs are allowed. No moon bounces or structures that have to be constructed. No propane grills or table top grills. When you reserve a picnic area at Greenbelt Park, the National Park Service issues you a permit that governs your use of the site. The confirmation email you receive from Recreation.gov serves as your permit. Your permit is only in effect from 9:00 a.m. until sunset. It gives you exclusive use of the picnic area you reserved. You or someone you designate must have the permit (the confirmation email) on site for the entire event, including while you are setting up before and cleaning up afterwards. You may bring pets to Fort Washington Park. Pets must be on a 6-foot leash (or shorter) and you must clean up after them. All Picnic Permit Holders must arrive at the park no later than 12 noon. Report to the Ranger Station when you arrive so that a park staff can open the picnic gate.
